LA JOLLA CANYON

Sycamore Canyon View

Winter light on a warm December day.  Ocean and mountain views.

On Feb 24, 2018, finally back to beautiful La Jolla Canyon.  We started up Ray Miller trailhead even though closed to see the damage. A rock slide in 2015 and a burned out  rest room which used to have flush toilets for the hikers and the RV campers have not been repaired.  Sad to see no money in California state budget in three years to repair the trail and bring back the camping sites.  CA residents will no longer  get to enjoy this beautiful loop through the diverse Ray Miller trail, wind up and around the fire road and connect with the La Jolla trail overlook.  State is over run with social programs and not enough for even the state park repair.  Very sad for Nature and the deterioration of the state park system.  (And the university system, I will note is showing signs of rapid decline as well)  A great state run amok by apathy, false ideology and greedy politicians.
